Cobra Commander was once a respectable member of society, he had his own business selling used cars a wife and son and life was good. Until the American government in the form of Tax auditors came one day and told him he had broken all these laws that he didn't even know existed. He lost everything, his business, his house and eventually his wife left with their son. He vowed vengeance on the American government and faked his own death, using the life insurance he created the first civil army since 1775.
