Character:

In addition to the "Standard 8" and an unnamed raft pilot figure, The Bad Guys figures released by Remco included (at least) four static figures. Three of them were included with The Big Bag Chopper. The fourth one, the source for this custom, was a static paratrooper, with its arms in the holding-the-risers position. In keeping with the animal-themed names Remco gave to its other team members, I've named this one Owl.

Design:

Remco's The Bad Guy Parachutist Commando was simply wearing black fatigues of the era. I set out to use parts to build a low-POA figure as a nod to the static nature of the Remco figure, but ended up using elbow swivel/hinged arms instead. The lacks have no knee articulation, which is what I wanted for this. The parts are a bit busier than Remco's, but not too much.

Colors & Paint:

I started off in the wrong direction, as the Remco figure featured a gold helmet/boots on a black uniform, but I didn't realize that. I parted this figure before finding a clear image of the gold helmet/boots, and initially thought it was a head-to-toe black uniform. The parts make for a solemn ruffian, and the gold helmet and boots would have downplayed that. So I pushed the gold onto the techno-kibble square on the chest, and added metallic red/salmon for the goggles and metallic blue for the neck wrap.

Sculpting & Modifying:

A hole was drilled in the helmet to accommodate the post from the helmet.

The main/reserve parachute and parts of the Para-Viper harness/leg were grafted onto the existing sculpted webgear of the Cobra Claws front/back. Same for the legs straps onto the legs.

The front elbow pin holes were epoxy filled and smoothed out.

Thanks for looking.
