Blockade was a heavy equipment operator for a number of years before enlisting. In the army he served as an artillery man. He was recruited to the Joe team by Artillery Coordinator, Grand Slam, whom was looking for a soldier that could operate a heavy artillery vehicle like the Mobile Battle Bunker, which involves driving the massive machine, digging it into the Earth, and then raining pain on Cobra with its two double-barrelled mortar cannons.
Blockade is often prejudged by his own teammates as being big and dumb. He's slow talking and slow walkng, and has a seemingly clueless perma grin. They don't understand what it takes for someone to quickly mentally calculate the angle and trajectory of mortar shells over a long distance.

The MBB is one of those cool Joe vehicles that should have come with a driver. This figure was inspired by the Joecustoms.com Transportation Corps group project.
