The fig itself is the v1 Interrogator. All I've done is spruce up one of the best RAH figs around. The unmasked head is one of the bbi paratroopers - the Corpsman one, iirc. I almost went with a black guy head until I nailed down the Latverian origin for him. I don't recall any black European aristocracy, and thought it would be weird. The hands are also bbi, although they're prolly not from the exact same fig. The boots are off the Sith Evolutions Vader fig I hacked up for parts.

The Zorba family had ruled the small nation of Latveria since the 1300's. It being a small woodland nation situated neatly between Eastern and western Europe with little to offer; it seems time had passed it by. It absorbed qualities of both halves of Europe, the repressive autocratic values of the East and the technological forward-thinking of the West.

Being the second son of the King Leopold Ulrich Zorba, Gregor Paul knew he would not sit on the throne through normal means, and temporarily subsumed his wishes for power to helping his father maintain his rule and support his elder brother Heinrich's birthright until his opportunity came. Wishing to teach his son the proper means of enforcment, King Leopold made Gregor the head of the Ministry for Latverian Nationalism, the secret police.

When Doctor Doom had come to overthrow King Leopold, his two sons were fortunately out of the country vacationing in Greece. Otherwise, Doom would surely have killed them as well.

After a time, Doom came to be absent from Latveria for a prolonged period, and Heinrich seized the throne in his vacancy. Gregor rummaged thru Doom's Castle and cobbled together a helmet that would aid him in his interrogations of the populace that had helped Doom overthrow their father, or so they believed as Doom needed no help at all.

It was with the help of his mask that Gregor came to brainwash everyone in the royal palace so they willingly gave up "King" Heinrich, aka Zorba the Great; upon Doom's inevitable return. Gregor had instilled a latent suggestion in the Royal Staff to completely forget he ever existed; and thus escaped Doom's wrath while simultaneously pilfering the coffers.

While he wishes he could take the throne of Latveria as is his birthright, Gregor knows Doom is nigh-undefeatable. He consoles himself with his stolen monies and his mask. As the heir to the 6th Watch of the Crimson Guard, he has brainwashed his Subordinate Guards to be fanatically loyal to him, ensuring they don't kill him in his sleep and take his place. In the meantime, he feigns impoverishment by using an obsolete HISS II, dubbed the Grand Inquisitor, as his personal vehicle. He tacitly supports COBRA Commander in all Guard dealings, but only because COBRA Commander is the current 'Big Man on Campus' and would willingly sway his allegience should someone else come to rule. All while attempting to surreptitiously brainwash the Subordinate Guards of the other 9 Watches, one by one; and will seize Commandership of the Guard once he feels he's got the numbers necessary to overthrow Doom with the co-erced armies of COBRA behind him.
