Ever since the Adventure Team had its first encounter with Bigfoot, G.I. Joe has had a contingency in place for a wide variety of paranormal threats no sanctioned government program had ever had prior. Currently, this "contingency" is Ghosthound. Ghosthound is perhaps the most obscure member of the Joe team, nicknamed "Couch Hound" by Snow Job based on how much downtime he has at the PIT, between those rare times when his area of expertise is required.

While his official paperwork calls him an experimental weapons expert, the bottom line is that Ghosthound is on the Joe team to help combat the ever increasing number of unusual occurrences stemming from Cobra's own experiments with science and nature. So far he has been called on to investigate, and formulate a response to, various phenomenon including: Cobra-La, the Serpentor project, Bio-Vipers, Crystal Ball, and numerous other creations of Dr. Mindbender.

In addition to being the unit's Ping Pong champion (downtime does allow for a lot of practice), Ghosthound is notoriously fond of horror movies. He anxiously awaits the day that Cobra converts its first vampire, or unwittingly initiates the "Zombie Apocalypse." He's made various modifications to his load of (mostly) science related gear, in preparation. His rifle sized multi-spectrum light, sound and video recording device now has its own chainsaw attachment and electron pulse emitter. He's also taken to carrying a wood stake, which he claims is just for fun, but is in reality a family heirloom.

"It's only a matter of time before Cobra goes too far and stirs up something they shouldn't. That's why Ghosthound is here. We give him a lot of crap, but the thing is, he doesn't fear what goes bump in the night...what goes bump in the night fears him." - Steeler
