SHADOW FIST is believed to have been born somewhere in Southeast Asia and taken in by Buddhist Monks. At a very early age, an earthquake destroyed the temple he lived in, killing almost every occupant. He managed to escape, finding himself alone in the jungle. As he struggled to survive, a female chimpanzee took him in as her own. He spent the next several years with the troop until he was found by an elderly Chinese man exploring the temple ruins. Impressed by his agility and quickness, the man took Shadow Fist in and trained him in the art of Monkey Kung Fu, along with retraining him to live like a human. Once grown, Shadow Fist took his skills to Japan, where he was eventually hired by Budo and Jinx as an infiltrator for their mercenary-for-hire business. Although they were reluctant to let Shadow Fist keep his chimp parter, Zhan-Shi (named after his sensei), they soon changed there minds after seeing the two in action together.
