Martin "Barrage" Romanowski grew up in Minnesota playing hockey and football. He had the reputation of being invincible and was able to take any hit and bounce back up. This reputation followed him into the armed forces and when he ended up with the Joes, it got him placed with a driver of a vehicle called the Persuader. This driver's name was Backstop and he was known for being a bruiser and being tough to be around. Barrage can handle just about anything, so he and Backstop get along just fine.

The hands had to be glued on after modifying the arms a little due to two different styles of attachment. The webgear was altered a bit by simply cutting off the lower half to give him more mobility.
