Mimic

Before injecting the modified nanomites into Zartan, Cobra Commander tested them on a Neo-viper. Cobra Commander also inserted one of his mind control chips which rendered the Neo-viper extremely loyal to the Commander. Taking the name Mimic he worked as Cobra Commanders personal spy, impersonating hundreds of people while infiltrating installations across the glove. The constant changing of his physical appearance as well as taking on multiple personas eventually drove him insane. After Cobra Commanders capture Mimic disappeared and his current location is unknown.

One of the side effects of Mimic's psychosis is that he can no longer remember what he looked like before the nanomite injection. As such his face takes on a very minimal structure when he isn't impersonating anyone, which is rare. He should be considered extremely dangerous, moreso than Zartan as his fanatical loyalty to Cobra Commander makes him unpredictable.

The parts I pulled were about as diverse as you could get. Destro head, trooper torso, ninja arms and ninja commando legs. I decided that I wasn't going to go the easy way and make a Destro figure. So I pulled out a trick I learned when I was customizing Microman figures for de-chroming heads. I soaked the chromed Destro head in a bath of Pine-sol floor cleaner for about 60 hours. Something about Pine-sol breaks down the chemical bonding of the chrome to the plastic head making it possible to remove the chrome. With a lot of elbow grease and patience I was able to remove the chrome (and the "frosted" paint which added another layer of difficulty in scraping the chrome away) leaving the bare plastic head. The head had some basic human features but wasn't a fully detailed head like you'd expect. This simple head sculpt determined the design of the character. The rest was just trying to make the different parts look like they belong together.
