Desert Scorpion

The man called Desert Scorpion was one of Cobra's premiere desert assault specialists, training other soldiers on how to live and successfully wage war in desert like climates.

The first lesson he always taught his students, "Always respect the desert. The minute you stop respecting her is the minute you die." He was so good at this job, that he earned the moniker "Desert Scorpion" before long.

While on a routine patrol mission in the American southwest, Desert Scorpion came upon the crazed cowboy Wild Bill. Wild Bill, infamous for being one of the most murderous and sadistic people alive today, was instantly attacked and overwhelmed. Desert Scorpion had the upper hand until several members of the GI Joe team converged and overwhelmed him. After they had subdued him, it was Wild Bill's turn to inflict pain, as he slowly cut and skinned pieces of Desert Scorpion, all the while laughing telling him how he was going to make a pair of boots from his skin. He soon tired of doing this, and another hour of beating and breaking bones, Wild Bill sought out teammate Charbroil, who simply just decided to light Desert Scorpion on fire, burning a large portion of his body to a piece of charcoal.

His torment finally ceased as a squad of Cobra troopers converged on the scene, rescuing what was left of him. They took him back to a secret Cobra base where he was treated by Scalpel. Scalpel did what he could for him, but realized he would not live without more help. Scalpel sought the help of Dr. Mindbender, a leading Cobra scientist. Mindbender concluded Scorpion would not be able to live much longer in his condition, and immediately put to use an experimental suit he had been working on. He outfitted Desert Scorpion with a biomechanical suit, which keeps his body at a calm, cool temperature, and neutralizes all of his pain from the burns he suffered. The suit can withstand the harshest conditions the desert has, and enhances the strength of the user. Scorpion's eyes had to be replaced by bionic eyes that only read thermal images, and glow an eerie yellow at all times. The only "human" part of him left to see is part of one arm, and a badly burned face, which he keeps under wraps, and a desert boonie hat.

He now seeks to bring to justice or eliminate those who ruined his life, and disrespected his desert.

I wanted to go sci-fi with this one, and make him eerie at the same time. This was my fist experiment in trying hard to make a figure look dirty and beat up. I think it turned out pretty good, especially the scuffs on the black armor. I also attempted to give him a dirty look by making it seem as though he had mud and dirt caked on him by dry brushing different browns, yellows and reds over the body. I am very pleased the way this guy turned out.
