Cross Country

Name: Rob Blair
Primary Military Specialty: Combat Engineer
Secondary Military Specialty: Mechanized Infantry

Cross Country is a MIT Engineer with a penchant for long distance running and speaking his mind. Brilliant, articulate and athletic, he managed to battle his way onto the Joe team despite open criticism of team tactics, procurement and leadership. As a combat engineer, he resolves battlefield-engineering problems with equal measures of grit and wit.

Cross Country first came to the attention of the G.I. Joe team when he published a damming paper about the design of the H.A.V.O.C. RTV. The report (which contained the phrase, "Anyone who drives a tank with an open cockpit into combat deserves to get his fool head shot off." ;) made him unpopular with much of the team, but was recognized as saving the team from procuring a dangerously unsafe combat vehicle.

When asked about the bizarre choice to wear a Confederate flag on his jacket, he responded, "This? I took this off some 'intellectually challenged' punk that I had to fight in boot to get a place on this team. Southern doesn't equal stupid, but this guy was a true artifact of an unenlightened time. I kicked his ass, but if I hadn't he'd be in my place right now. I wear the jacket to remind everyone that we are an elite unit, with no place for people with prejudices that should have expired back in the Civil War. Remember that the fight for freedom is waged inside the mind as well as on the battlefield."
