After the GIJOE team was put back on duty again Claymore was one of the joe's that did not get a call back to duty because the team was looking for younger recruits. Claymore hit hard times and did not know what to so he did the only thing he could think of and joined cobra. After proving himself to Cobra Commander time after time he was made Python Patrol Commander, and has become a very evil enemy to the joes.
