Swung by Dollar Tree on the way home. The "Final Faction" line is finally starting to hit. They only had 2 cases of the hero characters but are expecting cases of the villains and the accessory sets tomorrow or Sunday.

I only picked up 1 each of the figures minus the female character as that figure looks TERRIBLE (not even worth $1 to be honest). I haven't opened them up yet as I am cooking dinner, but my first impressions are not great.

They follow the standard Chap Mei design (5 POA, 2 screws in the torso/waist holding the figure together, bulky bodies and little peanut heads), but sport somewhat more sophisticated paint apps (like Chap Mei, the reverse of the torsos lack paint). The mech and the figures with the heavier armor sport empty ports for attaching accessories from the accessory sets which will allow for some fun customization potential. The tiny heads really ruin the overall presentation of the figures.

The accessories look really nice though and will probably be the stars of the line along with the alien villains.

i'm interested to see the "square" piece with ruck and helmet with steadfast. the mech doesn't come with anything?

also interested to see if they are nice thick plastic or the blown stuff from the other dt figures.

My final impression of the ones I bought:

Material: more like styrene plastic than the heavier plastic and vinyl used by better toy companies. I fear the separately sculpted trigger fingers breaking off with repeated play.

Movement: very poor. Swivel joints all over, but there are either misformed or misaligned joints on every figure making the movements hindered. The heads and shoulders are especially affected by this. The shoulder joints on the mech are very wobbly on my sample.

Compatibility: mixed. The port system is not uniform across all of the figures. The backpacks do not really fit on each figure if you try to swap them. The shoulder cannon on the figure in green should theoretically work in all of the ports, but it is hit or miss across the line.

Are they good figures? Not really.

Are they worth a dollar? Varies from figure to figure and your personal tastes. The lone rifle in this first assortment is really well sculpted but the handle is kind of fat for figures with smaller grips. The plastic of all of the accessories is nice and rigid so there are no wavy or bent accessories unlike most modern lines.

The sculpts (aside from the heads) are interesting with lots cool details.

The paint isn't great, but there are enough details in the sculpts that will really pop with better paint jobs.

The helmet is really tiny, won't fit on Joes, maybe some of the ones with the tiny little heads like the New Sculpt era.

The mech does not come with any accessories. The mech has a dedicated accessory set available though.

i think we should try for a "super joe customs cart 2" with the vehicle that is coming. maybe if a few people commit we can be ready and buy a bunch as soon as one of us finds them. get 3 or so for everyone interested. i'm sure shipping will be more than they cost but shouldn't be terrible if they fit in a flat rate box.

i finally googled and found a pic. it is way cool for a base to build on. i guess quality might be worse than the figures though maybe wait until someone can put hands on one.

the dog and series 2 figure art looks good too.

I'm super stoked to get that little cart. I plan on buying all the ones I see along with the accessories. These things will be super fun to customize. I'm surprised more people are picking up at least the accessories for projects.

.....maybe remove the robo dogs head and add a lion or tiger head for some type of .....Voltron / TF Ravage inspired creature?

And the mech in wave 2..depending upon the size that's an excellent Diaclone scale fodder piece.

I bought tons of the accessory sets.

18 of the set with the drone and overboard and 6 each of all of the others.

After finally realizing that the Dollar Tree down the road that I pass by all the time is actually this Dollar Tree (don't judge, I'm old) I ventured in today to see what's the what. I found a nice chunk of the alien figures and their armament packs and mixed in were a two of "Ruck" and a lone A.C.R.M. mech along with a handful of the human accessory packs. There were about 4 or 5 Air Assault, 2 of the Heavy Arms and 2 of the Covert Ops. I grabbed 3 of the Air Assault and the 2 Covert Ops as well as the mech. I doubt they'll restock any time soon as there were 6 crammed full pegs of the alien drone figures and acc. packs. I might stop in next week after my comic book store run and grab the other Air Assault packs if they are still there.

For L.A. locals this is the Dollar Tree on Sherman Way off Coldwater.

I hit several Dollar Trees today hunting for DVDs/Blurays and noticed some local trends involving "Final Faction":

The least popular human figure in my area is Shift. Many DTs have nothing but her left from the heroes.

The least popular hero accessory set in my area is the Aerial Assault. It was the only hero set at any of my local DTs.

The Kharn seem to sit longer than the heroes in my area (when restocked at the same time), same for their accessory sets. I guess kids want the soldiers more than the monsters here.

The figures (both factions) seem to move quicker than the accessory sets. A few DTs have nothing but accessory sets (mostly Kharn) on the pegs.

Your experiences may vary, but this is what I am seeing in northeast NJ.

I grabbed another 7 FF female figures today after seeing some interesting repaints last night.

Plus I have a bunch of comic pack Scarletts I got on super clearance from the Hasbro Toy Shop years ago. Hope to swap out some Scarlett heads for the nicer FF female heads.
