I showed my daughter an example of the classic G.I Joe Explosion background used on retail cards dating back to the OG13. She took the sample and had a black artist's canvas board. She started by painting the entire explosion area white, then added yellow, orange and red, subtly blending as she went. She then went over the black of the canvas with BLK 3.0 by Stuart Semple, "THE BLACKEST BLACK PAINT IN THE WORLD ." It's going into regular photo backgrounds for my customs from now on!
